PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption of equipment to be used for the position management of an article.SOLUTION: A position management system for managing the position information of second equipment which wirelessly communicates with predetermined first equipment installed indoors includes: power control means for, when detecting that the second equipment moves, shifting the power state of the second equipment to an operational state; measurement means for, when the power state of the second equipment is shifted to the operational state by the power control means, measuring the radio wave intensity of a radio wave transmitted from the first equipment; acquisition means for estimating the position of the second equipment on the basis of the radio wave intensity measured by the measurement means, and for acquiring position information indicating the estimated position; and storage means for storing the position information acquired by the acquisition means in association with time information in a predetermined storage region. The power control means is configured to, when the power state of the second equipment is the operational state, shifts the power state of the second equipment to a standby state after the lapse of a predetermined time without detection of the movement of the second equipment.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 12 |
