The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition for hair comprising maleic acid as an active ingredient and, more specifically, to a cosmetic composition which enhances hair volume by thickening hair through increasing the hair diameter after entering inside hairs. The cosmetic composition comprising maleic acid of the present invention as an active ingredient induces increase in the diameter of the hairs in a rapid time, and can obtain effects capable of increasing the hair volume.
