The present invention relates to a watch type terminal for providing a function suitable for time information and situation information and a control method thereof. The terminal comprises: a display unit configured to display the time information; and a control unit configured to display screen information overlapping the time information wherein the situation information is reflected on the screen information. The situation information comprises specific time interval information. The screen information reflecting the situation information is displayed at a location in correspondence with a specific time interval represented by the time information.
