PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect an area representing a target object accurately.SOLUTION: A contour enhancement unit 22 performs contour enhancement on a blood specimen image. A cell detection unit 24 detects a cell area, using circle Hough transformation, from the blood specimen image with the enhanced contour. A cell area division unit 26, by using marker-controlled watershed conversion and for each of cell areas detected by the cell detection unit 24, extracts a contour of the cell area along a pixel in which change of a luminance value from a center of gravity of the cell area to a background area is a maximum value, from an image in which a luminance value of the blood specimen image with enhanced contour is reversed, thereby detecting a cell area.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
