PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device that has suppressed power consumption and occurrence of noise, which is radiated as electromagnetic waves, on a transmission line over which an image signal is transmitted from a timing controller to an image signal line drive circuit.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device includes an image signal line drive circuit that drives plural pixels, which are arrayed in a horizontal direction, by applying an image signal at least to every other pixel, and a timing controller that controls the image signal line drive circuit. The timing controller includes a division circuit that divides an image signal for one horizontal line in order of giving it to the image signal line drive circuit in line with the method of applying the image signal at least to every other pixel, a comparison circuit that compares image signals, which are successive, with each other, and a result-of-comparison reflection circuit that receives a result of comparison by the comparison circuit, and stops giving a subsequent image signal to the image signal line drive circuit when the successive image signals are consistent with each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
