REQUEST PROCESSING USING VM FUNCTIONS

A hypervisor receives a notification from a source virtual machine that provides network function virtualization (NFV) support to execute a VM function component to send a request to a virtual processor. The VM function component identifies a physical processor associated with the virtual processor, and adds the request to a memory space associated with the physical processor.

receiving, by a processing device executing a hypervisor, a notification from a guest operating system of a virtual machine to execute a VM function component to send a request to a virtual processor associated with a physical processor; and providing, by the processing device executing the VM function component, the request to the physical processor using a memory space associated with the physical processor.
