A nickel hydrogen rechargeable battery which is to resolve the problem for reducing the large self-discharge during the storage of the nickel hydrogen battery. The technical solution of the invention is a nickel hydrogen rechargeable battery, which comprises positive electrodes, separates, electrolytes and negative electrodes. The electrolyte comprises KOH solution. The positive electrode comprises at least one kind of oxides or hydrates of Ti, Yt, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu, Ca, or Ba and the content occupying the whole mass of the positive electrode active material is 0.1-10mass%. Compared to the current technique, the positive electrode of the invention comprises oxides or hydrates of Ti, Yt, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu, Ca, or Ba. Thus the month capacity remaining of the battery is increased to more than 90%, the year capacity remaining of the battery is increased to more than 80%, and the battery has excellent self-discharge capability and then has high capacity remaining. |
