<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for filtering and/or stabilizing fluid, especially beer, and a precoat filter applied in the method. <P>SOLUTION: This precoat filter is provided by equipping an inlet port 2 for prefiltrate, a prefiltrate chamber 5 and a filtering vessel 12 consisting of a plurality of filter candles 10 arranged in the prefiltrate chamber and an outlet port 3 for the filtrate. In order to achieve the improvement of the precoat and decrease of a mixture, at least one outlet port for the prefiltrate is arranged in the prefiltrate chamber.
