PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique that prevents the disappearance and mixture of communication data when communication is relayed between networks in which the maximum data length of the data portion of communication data that can be communicated by communication at one time is different.SOLUTION: A relay device (30) for relaying communication between networks (4 and 6) in which the maximum data length of a data portion of communication data that can be communicated by communication at one time is different comprises reconfiguration means (32) and communication means (34). The reconfiguration means reconfigures communication data received from an electronic device (10 or 20) connected with a transmission source network by the communication means in conformity with the maximum data length of a transmission destination network having the maximum data length different from the transmission source. The communication means communicates with the electronic devices connected with networks having different maximum data length, transmits the communication data reconfigured by the reconfiguration means to the transmission destination electronic device (10 or 20), and transmits a transmission completion notice to permit transmission to the transmission source network on finishing transmission.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
