PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electronic equipment and a cable that enable a user to easily switch a desired function while avoiding an increase in cable cost.SOLUTION: Electronic equipment 10 comprises a reversible connector which can accept a connection of a cable 20A on either a top or reverse side of a contact terminal surface of the cable. The cable 20A includes a terminal connected to a ground terminal in a pair of contact terminals which are asymmetrical between the top and reverse sides. The electronic equipment 10 monitors a conduction state between contact terminals of the cable 20A and contact terminals of the reversible connector so as to detect whether the cable 20A is connected on the top side or reverse side of the reversible connector. According to detection results, electronic equipment exhibits a first function (quick charging) when the reversible connector is connected on the top side or a second function (normal charging) when connected on the reverse side.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
