PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and assembly to inspect a partially cured repair patch prior to installation.SOLUTION: An assembly 20 for inspecting a repair patch 12 includes an acoustic facilitation layer 22 disposed proximately to the surface of the repair patch 12 through which ultrasonic signals will be introduced. The assembly 20 further includes a vacuum bag 24 surrounding the repair patch and the acoustic facilitation layer 22. The acoustic facilitation layer 22 has an acoustic impedance that is closer to the respective acoustic impedances of the repair patch 12 and the vacuum bag 24 than the acoustic impedance of air is to the respective acoustic impedances of the repair patch 12 and the vacuum bag 24.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
