PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module capable of smoothly moving the lens of a variable power system and the lens of a correction system while lightening load exerted on a motor. SOLUTION: The optical module 3 changing image pickup magnification by moving a variable power lens 16 and a correction lens 14 in an optical axis direction is equipped with a cylindrical cam 13 moving the lenses 16 and 14 in the optical axis direction, a driving means for driving and rotating the cam 13 and a driving control means for controlling the driving means, and a 1st cam included in the cam 13 has a non-linear cam surface 131-B whose inclination is not constant. The driving control means is constituted to control the driving by the driving means so that the lens 16 may move with linearity substantially by changing the rotating speed of the cam 13 corresponding to the inclination degree of the cam surface of the 1st cam.
