<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tray positioning mechanism for preventing a tray such as a manual feeding tray from being positionally deviated from an image forming apparatus main body, and an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: When paper is supplied from the manual feeding tray 24, the manual feeding tray 24 is opened relative to the image forming apparatus main body 12. At such a time, the projecting part 36 of a tray main body part 26 constituting the manual feeding tray 24 is inserted in the notched part 38 of an image forming apparatus main body cover 32, so that the projecting part 36 and the notched part 38 are engaged.
