Peak suppression method, and corresponding apparatus

A peak suppression method of an input signal to a transmission amplifier in a digital wireless telecommunication system. The method includes a first step for detecting characteristic information, such as width (W3), rise/fall slope (up, down) or integral (INTEGRAL), of a peak part of a transmission signal; and a second step for changing a suppression method for the peak part based on the characteristic information.
