PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation detector which can be placed closer to a sample compared with conventional products to improve radiation detection efficiency, and to provide a radiation detection device having the same.SOLUTION: An end of a collimator (shield) 11 facing a window 18 has an outer diameter that is smaller than that of an end thereof facing a surface of a radiation detection element 12. Thus, a front-tapered cover (housing) 17 having the window 18 on the front end can be shaped to be positioned closer to the collimator 11. As such, the size of the cover 17 in the vicinity of the window 18 can be made smaller. Such an arrangement allows a radiation detector 1 to be placed closer to a sample compared with conventional products without interfering with other components, enabling more efficient detection of radiation from a sample than conventional products.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
