PURPOSE: A broadcasting receiver and a method for receiving broadcasting data are provided to select transmission method and route suitable for broadcasting data in a receiving end, thereby receiving broadcasting data in the transmission method and route optimized for a broadcasting receiver. CONSTITUTION: A tuner receives broadcasting data including host access guiding information(S1200). A media control unit searches host access guiding information related to data access information stored in a storage medium(S1240). The media control unit receives broadcasting data in transmission mode that the searched host access guiding information indicates(S1250).
