The display device comprises: a display for displaying an image and/or a text; a sensing unit for sensing ambient light intensity; and a processor for gradually increasing an output luminance value of the display if a specific condition is satisfied on the basis of the surrounding light intensity sensed by the sensing unit and display attributes.
