PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve calculation accuracy of a reliability level in distance calculation devices calculating the reliability level along with distance information.SOLUTION: A distance calculation device calculates a subject distance on the basis of a first image created based on a light flux passing through a first pupil region owned by an image formation optical system, and a second image created based on a light flux passing through a second pupil region, in which a center of gravity of the first pupil region and a center of gravity of the second pupil region are present at a different position along a first axis. The distance calculation device includes: distance calculation means that compares pixels respectively included in a local region set in the first image and the second image; and reliability calculation means that plurally calculates a first value expressing a change amount of contrast along the first axis in the local region set to at least any one of the first image and second image, and calculates a reliability level of the subject distance corresponding to the local region on the basis of a second value serving as a value representing a plurality of first values.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
