PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor magnetic sensor which is microminiature, sensitive and has low power consumption, extremely little secular change and can integrate various circuits, and to provide a compact magnetic measuring device mounting the same. SOLUTION: The semiconductor magnetic sensor is made bipolar or MOS type transistor structure, and a region corresponding to its base is provided with a recombination region R. A small number of carriers injected into the base change a recombination ratio by Lorentz force by an external magnetic field H. Thereby, a magnitude and a direction of the external magnetic field H can be measured from change in a current of a collector or a drain. In the recombination region R utilizing a p-n junction, the recombination ratio of the small number of the carriers can be also controlled by application of a bias voltage.
