PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a canister monitor for monitoring the integrity of a fuel cladding tube on whether a damage has occurred therein as to a canister stored with spent fuels cladded with the fuel cladding tube and filled with helium gas. SOLUTION: This monitor is provided with a cavity resonator 6a for detection and a cavity resonator 6b for reference in the canister 1, and constructed so as to monitor the integrity of the fuel cladding tube from a difference developed in a resonance characteristic between the cavity resonator 6a for detection and the cavity resonator 6b for reference because of a damage of the cladding tube.
