PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method useful for manufacturing a powder method Nb<SB>3</SB>Sn superconductive wire uniformly processed without causing disconnection in manufacturing it, and exerting an excellent superconduction characteristic even when heat-treated at a relatively low temperature. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method of a powder method Nb<SB>3</SB>Sn superconductive wire is used for forming a superconductive layer on the inside surface side of a sheath by filling material powder containing at least Sn in the sheath formed of Nb or a Nb alloy and by heat-treating it after forming it into a wire by reducing its diameter. A substance prepared by adding and mixing Sn powder in alloy powder of Cu and Sn or an intermetallic compound is used as the material powder, and a powder compacting process by isotropic pressure is applied to the material powder.
