The method for treating ascite provides for locating the site where the jugular vein and the subclavian vein are connected. Then the trunk of the thoracic lymphatic duct is located and separated from the surrounding fat. Upon locating the site where the jugular vein and the subclavian vein are connected, the vascular clamp is applied to the jugular vein, with the ligature applied cranially. The procedures are performed above the presumable site of the location of thoracic lymphatic duct. Upon the separation of the thoracic lymphatic duct from the surrounding fat, the vascular clamp is applied.Through the internal lumen of the distal part of the dissected jugular vein, the ostium of the thoracic lymphatic duct is found out with the aid of the button probe and then the bougieurage is performed for expanding the ostium.
