A liquid crystal display is provided to improve display quality and to prevent a data driver from being damaged by lowering the level of a power voltage supplied to the data driver. A liquid crystal display includes a display panel, a data driver, a timing controller and a power supply unit(118). The power supply unit is composed of a booster, a detector(122), and a rectifier(124). The booster boosts an input driving voltage. The booster includes a PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) integrated circuit(126), a first switching element, and an inductor. The PWM modulation integration circuit generates the pulse signal by using the PWM method. A first switching element switches according to the pulse signal of the pulse width modulation IC. The inductor charges and discharges the voltage between the pulse width modulation IC and the first switching element. The detector detects the boosted voltage from the booster according to the heat control signal of a timing controller. The rectifier rectifies the voltage outputted from the booster according to the voltage fed back from the detector. The detector includes a dual analog switch(128).
