PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for controlling image sensor output are provided to divide, merge and output electric charge wells corresponding to a cell unit of an image sensor by using a calculated timing parameter, thereby variously outputting images whose number is an effective pixel number that a user wants. CONSTITUTION: If an arbitrary effective pixel number of an image sensor is selected, a TG(Timing Generator) parameter corresponding to the effective pixel number is calculated(S11). A MUX setting operation for suitably merging electric charges charged in a sensor well is performed(S14). A MUX controller outputs images whose number is a desired number of effective pixels by control of a horizontal MUX and a perpendicular MUX(S17).
