A washing method of a washing machine is provided to guarantee washing performance by supplying detergent smoothly and to prevent the detergent from being stuck to a detergent keeping unit by discharging the detergent completely through a siphon unit. In a washing method of a washing machine, supplying water to a detergent keeping unit of a detergent box by a water supply unit and discharging detergent and water through a siphon unit formed at the detergent keeping unit, the detergent of the detergent keeping unit is discharged through the siphon unit at least twice by repeating and stopping a water supplying operation of the water supply unit. Water is supplied to a water level discharging the detergent and the water through the siphon unit, of the detergent keeping unit(S6). The water supply is stopped until the detergent and the water is discharged completely through the siphon unit. |
