A portable display device is provided to reduce an entire thickness of the portable display device by reducing a thickness of a backlight assembly by placing optical sheets on a backlight unit with reduced thickness. A portable display device comprises an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) panel(104), a backlight assembly and a light guide plate(118). The backlight assembly includes light sources for supplying light to the LCD display panel. The light guide plate is included in the backlight assembly, and supplies the light supplied from the light sources to the LCD panel. The light guide plate comprises a first incident light unit(118a) placed to be adjacent to the light source and set with a thickness bigger than or equal to a thickness of the light source, and a backlight unit(118b) set with a thickness smaller than the first light incident unit. |
