A slim-type light position inputting apparatus is disclosed. A light position inputting apparatus includes a slim-type case, a printed circuit board (PCB), an encoder, a lens, a sensor housing and a light-emitting diode (LED). The encoder has a supporting portion having a predetermined thickness and a lens barrel. The lens is installed to the lens barrel. The predetermined thickness of the supporting portion of the lens holder is the thickness for determining the installation height of the sensor housing from an upper surface of the PCB so as to maintain a ratio of about 1 : 1, which is the ratio of a distance from a reflective surface viewed through the long-shaped hole to the center of the lens and a distance from the center of the lens to a receiving surface of an image sensor disposed in the sensor housing.
