PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decorative plate material which has a structure that can eliminate the risk of adversely affecting the appearance of a decorative surface, and contributes to improved working efficiency when mounted. SOLUTION: The externally decorative plate material 10 for a building is mounted on a building skeleton 18. When the decorative plate material 10 is mounted on the building skeleton 18, it has a decorative portion 20 located on a surface 12 thereof facing the outdoors 14, and has a projective rib 24 projecting from the decorative portion 20 toward the outdoors 14, at a location above the decorative portion 20. Further the decorative plate material 10 has a screw driving portion 22 formed at a location above the projective rib 24 and on one side of an outdoor 14 side edge of the projective rib 24 toward the skeleton 18, for abutting thereon a seat face of a screw 28 for fixing the decorative material 10 to the building skeleton 18.
