PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus, image processing method, image processing program and recording medium for preventing a specific image, in images to be subjected to line-thickening or thinning processing thereon, from being modified longitudinally and laterally by the line-thickening or thinning processing. SOLUTION: When an unauthorized copy guard pattern conversion function unit 32 performs resolution conversion of an unauthorized copy guard pattern in order to combine the unauthorized copy guard pattern of 600 dpi to original image data of 1,200 dpi, even if an edge processing unit 51 performs longitudinal line-thickening or thinning on a combined image, a multifunction peripheral 1 applies first the thinning processing or the thickening processing so as not to change an aspect ratio of the unauthorized copy guard pattern. Thereafter, the unauthorized copy guard pattern is combined with the original image data by a video output controller 4 and edge processing is performed thereon by the edge processing unit 51.
