In a filter unit (10) for a filtration device, comprising a filter medium (16) sealed to a frame with an outer contour (15) extending over the inflow and outflow sides of the medium and crude and purified fluid throughflow pipes (13, 14) connected to the inflow and outflow sides (17, 18) respectively, the frame has supporting bridges (12) located at the outflow side and the medium is connected to the bridges. Independent claims are included for: (1) a stack (19) of at least two of the filter units, with the frames sealed to each other, the crude and purified fluid throughflow pipes of adjacent units sealed to each other to form a flow channel and the supporting bridges of adjacent units aligned with and mutually supporting each other; (2) a filtration device for purifying fluids (especially process fluids) consisting of a vessel with connections for crude fluid, purified fluid and concentrate, containing a stack (19) of at least two of the filter units, attached to the connections; and (3) a method for purifying a fluid using the filtration device, involving passing the fluid to be purified through the crude fluid connection into the stack of filter units, through the crude fluid throughflow pipes to the crude fluid zones (25) (between the inflow sides of the filter medium) and to the purified fluid zone (26) (between the outflow sides of the filter units), so that the purified fluid and concentrate flow through the purified and crude fluid throughflow pipes respectively to the purified fluid and crude fluid connections respectively and leave the filtration device.
