The device has a laser beam generator generating laser beam in a defined position, where the beam is directed to a reference position to an axle. A screen (11) e.g. diffusing screen, collects the beam reflected from the reference position. A target position for the beam is defined in the screen, where the target position corresponds to a preset falling or wheel alignment of the axle. A reflector is arranged at the reference position. An independent claim is also included for a method for falling and/or wheel alignment of a motor vehicle axle.
