The armrest (12) for especially a motor vehicle's seat has an adjusting mechanism (200) installed between the foldable seat back (10) and a fixed component (14), which with the reversible folding of the seat back around a pivot axis (A) differing from the armrest pivot axis (B) extending parallel to the seat back brings about predeterminable, positively controlled armrest movement directed towards the middle of the seat. An independent claim is included for especially a motor vehicle' s seat equipped with the aforesaid armrest.
