PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to correct the rotational speed of a driving wheel used for detecting a slip according to the state of wear in tires in a slip detection device that detects a slip of the driving wheel of a vehicle equipped with one steerable driving wheel and a pair of left and right driven wheels. SOLUTION: When a forklift 1 is inertially running at a speed equal to or higher than a predetermined speed, the rotational speeds of the driving wheel 3 and the pair of left and right driven wheels 4, 5 are respectively detected. The vehicle body speed Vo in the driving wheel 3 position is computed based on the detected left driven wheel speed V1 and right driven wheel speed V2. A velocity ratio (vehicle body speed Vo/driving wheel speed Vw) as a parameter representing the state of wear in tires is computed from the computed vehicle body speed Vo and the driving wheel speed Vw. The computed velocity ratio is stored in a memory, and a value obtained by averaging multiple velocity ratios stored in the memory is set as a correction value Kv for the driving wheel speed Vw.
