PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device having an image sensing function in which an image such as a document and a fingerprint is input and an input image can be projected, and to provide a method for manufacturing the device and an image sensing method using the device. SOLUTION: The display device is equipped with a photo sensing element comprising a data line to supply a data voltage, a gate line intersecting the data line, a first thin film transistor located at an intersection area of the substrate data line and the gate line, and a first storage capacitor driven by a driving voltage different from the data voltage, sensing external light and storing a sensed signal.
