<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cruise controller for a vehicle capable of releasing exactly cruise control in response to a speed of a preceding vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: This controller is provided with a vehicular speed control means (step 6) provided with an intervehicular distance radar for detecting an intervehicular distance with respect to the preceding vehicle, and for executing control by controlling an own vehicle speed to keep the intervehicular distance with respect to the detected preceding vehicle, a cruise control releasing means (steps 3, 8) for releasing the cruise control when the detected own vehicle speed comes to a prescribed threshold value or less, and a threshold value switching means (steps 7, 8) for switching the threshold value to a threshold value lower than the threshold value in the condition where a calculated speed of the preceding vehicle is higher than a prescribed value, and the cruise control for following the preceding vehicle is continued even when the own vehicle speed gets low tentatively by deceleration control, for example, in the case where the preceding vehicle changes a lane to a front side of an own vehicle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
