A method for managing connection box for a fiber optic cable is provided to identify the connection box and check a state of the connection box without attaching a tag to the connection box, going into a manhole, or opening the connection box installed to an upper part of an electric pole, and check connection and state information of the connection box without manually checking a register. A portable terminal guides a user to the connection box by comparing terminal location information obtained from a GPS(Global Positioning System) satellite with location information of the connection box, and displaying a distance/direction to the target connection box(S100). ID information of the connection box including an RFID tag is collected around the connection box by using the portable terminal equipped with an RFID reader(S200). The collected ID information is transmitted to a server and the server searches management information of the connection box corresponding to the transmitted ID information(S300). The connection box is managed based on the searched management information of the connection box(S400). When update information about repair or replacement is generated from the connection box, the management information is updated and transmitted to the server by using the portable terminal(S500). |
