A method, apparatus and computer usable program code for identifying regi ons in the ground at a well site (200). Continuous data (902) is received fr om the well site (200); reducing redundancies in the continuous data (902) r eceived from the well site (200) to form processed data. Cluster analysis is performed (2308) using the processed data to form a set of cluster units, w herein the set of cluster units (1402) include different types of cluster un its that identify differences between regions in the ground at the well site (200). Properties are identified for each type of cluster unit in the set o f cluster units (1400) to form a model for the well site (200).
