PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress irregularities of density caused by a recording time interval between scans in the multi-pass recording of recording by each reciprocatory scan. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a color converting part 330 which generates a recording image 400 by subjecting an input image 320 to color conversion according to an ink color, a recording data generating part which generates recording data of each scan corresponding to a plurality of scans to the recording image generated by the color converting part 330, and a recording control part which controls at least either the color converting part 330 and the recording data generating part on the basis of a position on a scanning line of each dot to be recorded in the recording image 400 generated by the color converting part 330.
