PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress musical noise generation after suppressing a noise component. SOLUTION: A noise suppressing section 26 generates an acoustic signal VOUT by suppressing the noise component n of an acoustic signal VIN in a frequency domain. An index calculation section 32 calculates a noise index valueσm which changes according to a kurtosis KXm in a frequency distribution of intensity of the acoustic signal VIN before suppression of the noise component n and, and a kurtosis KSSm in the frequency distribution of intensity of the acoustic signal VOUT after suppression of the noise component n, as an index of a degree in which the musical noise is generated after suppression of the noise component n. A suppression control section 36 controls a degree of suppression of the noise component n by the noise suppression section 26 to be variable, according to the noise index valueσm.
