PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transparent oily liquid thickener, in which polyamide 8 having been difficult to be compounded into an oil solution because of being solid, can be homogeneously compounded into the oil solution at a high concentration, the transparent oily liquid thickener having a high thickening effect to a particular oil solution; a transparent thickening composition in which polyamide 8 is homogeneously compounded to the particular oil solution at the high concentration using the oily liquid thickener; and a cosmetic using the oily liquid thickener or the thickening composition.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a transparent oily liquid thickener containing 5-50 mass% of polyamide-8 and 50-95 mass% of a liquid higher fatty acid having a branched or unsaturated alkyl group of Cto C, or a liquid higher alcohol having a branched or unsaturated alkyl group of Cto C; to a thickening composition containing 5-50 mass% of the oily liquid thickener and at least one oil solution selected from oils and fats and ester oil or hydrocarbon oil, and further to a cosmetic containing the thickening composition.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
