PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a shading property of a floating diffusion region of an MOS solid-state imaging apparatus. SOLUTION: The solid-state imaging apparatus with pixels has a photodiode 1 that creates an electric charge corresponding to an incident light quantity, a floating diffusion region 3 that temporarily holds the electric charge, a charge transfer transistor 2 that transfers the electric charge from the photodiode to the floating diffusion region, and a read-out circuit 5-8 that reads out to the exterior the electric charge temporarily held in the floating diffusion region. Shading materials 427a, 427b are provided as arranged covering over the sidewall of the gate electrode 304 of the charge transfer transistor on the photoelectric conversion side.
