DAMAGE PREVENTION PAD OF A STEEL COIL

A pad device for preventing the damage of a coil is provided to prevent surface damage of the steel coil due to an external impact by attaching coil damage preventing pads to a predetermined length on an outer peripheral surface of a steel coil, i.e., on a contact surface of the steel coil that is exposed to supports. A pad device for preventing the damage of a coil comprises: damage preventing pads(100) which are formed from a rubber material, and which are closely adhered to an outer peripheral surface of a steel coil such that both ends of the damage preventing pads are positioned at a position higher than a half of the height of the steel coil; and filament tapes(200) for fixedly adhering the both ends of the damage preventing pads to the outer peripheral surface of the steel coil, wherein the pad device prevents surface damage of the steel coil due to an adjacent steel coil. The damage preventing pads each has a length of 50 to 300 cm, a width of 5 to 40 cm, a thickness of 0.5 to 5 cm, and a surface hardness(HsA) of 50 to 95.
