PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen production system capable of suppressing deterioration in a catalyst during temperature rising.SOLUTION: Provided is a hydrogen production system 1 comprising: a dehydrogenation reaction part 10 where an organic halide R is contacted with a catalyst 12, and dehydrogenation for the organic halide R is caused to generate a hydrogen-containing fluid HT; a pressure rising part 52 for increasing the pressure of the hydrogen-containing fluid HM made to flow out from the hydrogen reaction part 10; a buffer tank 54 provided in the flow direction of the hydrogen-containing fluid Hf and also at the downstream side of the pressure rising part 52; and a recycle gas line 61 directly or indirectly introducing the hydrogen-containing fluid Hr in the buffer tank 54 into the dehydrogenation reaction part 10. In this way, before the dehydrogenation reaction of the organic hydride R is performed, the feed of the hydrogen Hr into the dehydrogenation reaction part 10 from the buffer tank 54 stored with the hydrogen Hr generated in the former is made possible, and deterioration in the catalyst 12 caused by hydrogen sufficiency can be suppressed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
