PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery preventing damages of a safety valve by a force from outside of a battery, preventing intrusion of moisture from outside of the battery or evaporation of electrolyte solution outside, enabling to discharge inner pressure of the battery by a sure operation of the safety valve at abnormalities when the inner pressure gets higher than a predetermined value, having a simple manufacturing method, excellent in safety, and with large capacity. SOLUTION: In a battery equipped with a battery container, a power generating element stored in the container, and electrolyte, an opening part is provided at the battery container, the battery is equipped with a sealing member for sealing the opening part and a sheet at least covering a boundary part between the opening part and the sealing member from outside of the battery.
