Disclosed is a photosensitive composition containing a photoreactive material (A), an epoxy compound (B) having an average epoxy equivalent weight of not more than 230 g/eq, while containing two or more epoxy groups in a molecule, and a thiol group-containing compound (C). This photosensitive composition is used for forming a recording layer on which information is recorded by using holography. In a preferable mode of such a photosensitive composition, the epoxy compound (B) and the thiol group-containing compound (C) are reacted with each other, thereby forming a polymerized product. Also disclosed is an optical recording medium having a recording layer which is produced from such a photosensitive composition.
