<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display whether follow-up reproduction can be performed by transferring a file to an arbitrary recording device on a network to measure the transfer rate and further measure a rate of file transfer from the recording device. <P>SOLUTION: The communication device comprises a communication unit which communicates with an external communication device through the network; a recording and reproduction control means of transferring data for measurement to the recording device on the network through the communication unit and the network to make the recording device record the data and also reproduce the recorded data for measurement while performing the recording; a rate calculating means of calculating the recording rate and reproduction rate from the time for which the recording and reproduction control means performs the recording and reproduction; and a control unit which generates a display signal indicating whether follow-up reproduction can be performed by a plurality of video recording and reproduction simultaneous processing modes when the recording device performs recording. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
