<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress poisoning deterioration of a catalyst metal and enhance durability of a catalyst by mounting a carrier for collecting a poisoning component in an exhaust passage on the upstream side of a catalyst for an exhaust emission control device of an internal combustion engine and collecting such a poisoning component in exhaust gas as Pb and Mn by the carrier. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust emission control device includes in an exhaust passage of an internal combustion engine a catalyst and a carrier in which exhaust gas discharged from the internal combustion engine flows and which collects a poisoning component of a catalyst metal on the upstream side of the catalyst. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
