An LCD and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to solve reddishness of side visibility caused by double refraction rate by forming a red color filter having the same thickness as a blue color filter. An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) comprises a first substrate, a second substrate including RGB(Red, Green and Blue) color filters(23,24,25), and an LC layer. The red color filter and the blue color filter have the same thickness. The thickness of the green color filter is less than those of the red and blue color filters. A color filter substrate comprises a transparent insulating substrate(21), a black matrix(22) patterned on the transparent insulating substrate, a color filter layer(26) including RGB colors formed on the black matrix at different thicknesses, an overcoat layer(27) formed on the color filter layer, and a common electrode(28) which is a metal layer formed on the overcoat layer. |
