<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a molded coil for reliably and easily securing resin with fixed thicknesses on an outside peripheral surface and an inside peripheral surface of a coil; and to provide a molded coil obtained by reliably applying the resin with the fixed thicknesses to the outside peripheral surface and the inside peripheral surface of the coil. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The coil 10 is arranged in an annular coil arrangement space 51 constituted between an inward facing wall surface 52 and an outward facing wall surface 53 in a metal mold 50, so that a coil outside gap 51a is formed between the outside peripheral surface of the coil 10 and the inward facing wall surface 52 and a coil inside gap 51b is formed between the inside peripheral surface of the coil 10 and the outward facing wall surface 53. A spacer 60 is inserted into part of either one or both of the coil outside gap 51a and the coil inside gap 51b to hold the coil outside gap 51a and the coil inside gap 51b at respective fixed gap thicknesses. Consequently, a molded coil securing resin coats with respective fixed thicknesses on the outside peripheral surface and the inside peripheral surface of the coil 10 can be obtained.
