PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for treating water, in which water can be treated highly efficiently and stably as a whole apparatus, and to provide a method for treating water.SOLUTION: The apparatus for treating water includes: a mixing unit 1 in which organic waste water being raw water is mixed with excess sludge so that organic matter in the organic waste water is adsorbed on the excess sludge; a first solid liquid separation tank 2 in which a liquid mixture obtained in the mixing unit 1 is subjected to solid liquid separation; a fuelization unit 6 in which the separated sludge separated in the first solid liquid separation tank 2 is decomposed and converted into fuel gas or sludge fuel; a reaction tank 3 in which biological treatment is performed on the separated liquid separated in the first solid liquid separation tank 2; a second solid liquid separation tank 4 in which the treated water obtained in the reaction tank 3 is subjected to solid liquid separation; a returning means 7 for returning the sludge obtained in the second solid liquid separation tank 4 and/or the reaction tank 3 to the mixing unit 1, as excess sludge supplied to the mixing unit 1; and a control unit 10 for controlling a mixing ratio of the excess sludge to the organic waste water made to flow in the mixing unit 1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
